Im Jahr 2007 habe ich entschieden, dass ich mich ja nicht “Europäer” nennen könnte, wenn ich meinen Mit-Europäer gar nicht kennen würde. Also habe ich mich auf die Socken gemacht und sie alle besucht.
Zehn Jahre und 400.000 Kilometer später war ich nicht nur in allen europäischen Mitgliedsstaaten, sondern auch in allen europäischen Zwergstaaten, vielen europäischen Nicht-EU-Mitgliedsstaaten und auf drei weiteren Kontinenten. Immer dabei: meine Fotoausrüstung.
Klingt spannend, vor allem wie jemanden wie mich, der ja auch gerne mal verreist und darüber bloggt. Wenn auch bei weitem nicht so häufig wie Simon…
Kleines Schmankerl, wer es denn lieber hat: Es gibt seinen Weblog auch in einer englischsprachigen Version, in der er alle Artikel selbst übersetzt, also keine automatische Übersetzung ala Google nutzt.
Ich hoffe ihr seid gut in das neue Jahr gestartet. Oft wird der Jahresabschluss dazu genutzt, alte Zöpfe abzuschneiden, Projekte abzuschließen oder sonstige unerledigte Dinge wegzuarbeiten. Finde ich immer ein wenig irritierend, schließlich geht am 2.1. (Neujahr nehmen wir mal aus ) alles wieder von vorne los. Insbesondere im Berufsleben finde ich dieses Kalenderjahr-Arbeiten ein wenig nervend, weil alle möglichen Sachen aus Buchhaltungsgründen immer noch dieses Jahr fertig werden müssen, obwohl am 31.12. doch nicht der Weltuntergang kommt (auch wenn man das in manchen Gegenden aufgrund des Feuerwerks durchaus denken könnte) und es im Januar so weitergeht, wie man aufgehört hat.
Wie auch immer. Was hat sich bei mir so im letzten Jahr getan? Schaut man in das Weblog-Archiv, nicht viel. Hauptsächlich schrieb ich über unseren Florida-Urlaub im Mai, insgesamt wurde aber gefühlt deutlich weniger geblogt als in den vorherigen Jahren (zu Statistiken des Weblogs schreib ich gesondert noch was). Auch sonst war ich bzw. wir wieder in einigen Urlauben dieses Jahr und neben Florida hatten wir uns auch noch ein paar Tage in München, Heringsdorf und Altenau/Harz umgesehen. Außerdem war ich im April bei einem Serendipity-Treffen in Essen, welches demnächst ein Revival erleben wird.
Ansonsten bin ich seit Mitte des Jahres als Vorstand im Verein zur Förderung der Technikkultur in Erfurt e.V., bei dem ich nun auch schon ein paar Jahre Mitglied bin. Hatte ich darüber hier schon mal geschrieben? Ich glaube nicht. Der Verein ist Träger eines Hackerspace, dem Bytespeicher, und hat zum Ende des Jahres auch die Trägerschaft für einen Makerspace übernommen, der aktuell in Räumen des KrämerLoft (ein Coworking-Anbieter) eingerichtet wird. Wir hoffen damit unser Spektrum zu erweitern und möglicherweise auch neue Interessierte als Mitglieder akquirieren zu können.
Beruflich war ich im Jahr so viel unterwegs, wie bisher noch nie. Neben einer Weiterbildung in Karlsruhe war ich wegen laufenden Projekten immer mal in Heilbronn, Innsbruck, Salzburg oder im Oberen Inntal. So kommt man auch rum. Leider sieht man von den Städten aber nie was, da man wegen der langen An- und Rückreise aus/nach Erfurt/Weimar nach der Projektbesprechung gleich wieder zum Bahnhof hetzt, um noch irgendwie wieder zurück zu kommen. Auch in der Hoffnung, dass nicht irgend ein Zug Verspätung hat oder ganz ausfällt.
Zusammenfassend war es für mich ein recht gutes Jahr ohne groß negative Hinterlassenschaften oder Verluste. Damit kann ich wohl zufrieden und glücklich sein.
Nur ein kurzer Hinweis auf die Artikel von Christoph Langner und Axel Schwenke. Beide wurden für/wegen Fotos abgemahnt, zu denen sie keine korrekte Lizenzangabe gemacht haben. Groß darauf eingehen will ich gar nicht, lest euch lieber die beiden Artikel durch.
Egal ob nun wegen technischer Probleme (ersterer) oder Vergesslichkeit (letzterer), es ist wirklich erstaunlich und erschreckend, welche Möglichkeiten die Abmahn-Mafia versucht auszunutzen, um die Leute zu ärgern. Eigentlich traut man sich schon gar nicht mehr, ein Weblog zu betreiben.
Also liebe Leute: Wenn ihr fremde Bilder nutzt, immer die Lizenz beachten, insbesondere wenn die Bilder an sich kostenlos verwendbar sind und nur ein Link/Hinweis benannt werden muss. Ansonsten lieber nach einem anderen Bild suchen.
Am Wochenende war ich im Linuxhotel in Essen, da dort ein Treffen mehrerer Serendipity Nutzer (bzw. überwiegend Entwickler) war, um die Personen hinter dem Namen kennen zu lernen, Meinungen auszutauschen und auch ein wenig am System zu programmieren und die anstehende Version 2.1 voran zu bringen.
Ein offizielles Posting wird es sicherlich auch noch geben, daher verzichte ich auf den technischen Teil. Link folgt dann noch.
Neben dem geekigen Zeug waren wir Samstags zweimal zum Essen in der Nähe des Hotels. Besondere Erwähnung verdient dabei das Haus Großjung, wo wir mittags waren. Es glänzte mit großen Schnitzeln, leckeren Soßen und sympathischer Bedienung. Von unserer Seite ganz großes Lob und definitiv eine Empfehlung!
