Vor ein paar Tagen hat Google seine NIK Collection Bildbearbeitung-Werkzeuge kostenlos an die Leute verteilt, die bisher knapp 150 US$ gekostet hatten. Diverse Seiten hatten auch schon darüber berichtet und man kann die Programme, die eigentlich als Plugins für andere Bildbearbeitungsprogramme gedacht sind, auch Stand-Alone nutzen.
Wie ich aber bei efb.nu gelesen hatte, scheint diese Stand-Alone-Nutzung problematisch zu sein und kann zu unerwünschten Bild-Verlusten führen.
HDR Efex Pro überschreibt nicht das Original, sondern speichert ungefragt mit der Namensergänzung “_HDR” und im TIFF-Format im Dokumente-Ordner.
Analog Efex Pro überschreibt tatsächlich das Originalbild ohne Rückfrage!
Define, die beiden Sharpener Pro Module und Viveza können stand alone zwar gestartet werden, es gibt aber keinen Menüpunkt, um eine Bilddatei zu öffnen. Sie stattdessen mit der Maus in die Module zu ziehen klappt ebenfalls nicht. Also als Standalones vergessen.
Color Efex Pro überschreibt nicht, sondern speichert ins gleiche Verzeichnis zurück, benennt die Bilddatei aber um. Dabei wird das Format in “…_tmp”, “…_tmp1” usw. umbenannt, so dass es vom System nicht mehr als Bilddatei erkannt wird.
Silver Efex Pro überschreibt nicht die Originaldatei, speichert aber wie Color Efex Pro mit der Dateiendung “…_tmp” und überschreibt eventuell vorhandene andere Datei dieses Namens, z. B. eine vorher mit Color Efex Pro erzeugte Version des Bildes.
Also immer schön vorsichtig sein und lieber die Bearbeitung nur an Kopien der Fotos machen, da sonst im schlechtesten Fall das Original kaputt ist.

Viveza etc. funktionieren (Windows-Variante) für angewählte Bilder via “öffnen mit” im Explorer (entsprechende exe unter /Programme /Google /Nik… raussuchen)
Wäre mir nichts bekannt, aber ich habe NIK bisher auch nicht genutzt. Auf der Homepage werden nur wenige Programme benannt. Photoshop Elements z.B. nur bis Version 13, aktuell ist aber 14.

Gibt es denn neben Photoshop auch freeware-Bildbearbeitungsprogramme, welche die NIK-Plugins nutzen können?

Wäre mir nichts bekannt, aber ich habe NIK bisher auch nicht genutzt. Auf der Homepage werden nur wenige Programme benannt. Photoshop Elements z.B. nur bis Version 13, aktuell ist aber 14.
