Archivieren-Funktion von Mail nutzen (OSX)

Bei Twitter bin ich heute über den Artikel Gmail: Kompromissloses Archivieren in Apple Mail gestolpert, in dem beschrieben wird wie man den Archivieren-Knopf der Mail.app so einstellen kann, dass die Nachricht in den korrekten Google-Ordner “Alle Nachrichten” verschoben wird.

Eigentlich ganz einfach:

  1. Mail beenden.
  2. Im Ordner ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/ öffnen wir die Datei Accounts.plist mit einem Texteditor (wie zB TextWrangler).
  3. Im betreffenden Mailkonto (falls mehrere vorhanden sind), suchen wir nach dem Key „ArchiveMailboxName“ und ändern den Wert von „Archive“ auf „[Gmail]/Alle Nachrichten“.

Beim nächsten Start wird der Ordner „Alle Nachrichten“ unter „Archiv“ angezeigt und das Archivieren funktioniert genau so, wie es soll: Mit einem Klick auf den Archivieren-Button.

Ich hab das eben mal bei mir versucht und es klappt wunderbar. smile

Ach ja, bei der Gelegenheit habe ich auch noch den Papierkorb korrekt zugewiesen, denn auch da macht Mail etwas falsch. Dazu markiert man den GMail-Papierkorb in der Ordner-Hirarchie und wählt dann oben im Menü Postfach / Dieses Postfach verwenden für… / Papierkorb aus. Analog kann man es für Entwürfe und Gesendet machen smile

Bei letzterem muss ich zugeben, ich hatte mich da in den Konto-Einstellungen tot gesucht und nichts gefunden, wo ich IMAP-Ordner hätte verwalten können. Den entsprechenden Tipp habe ich dann im apfelwiki gefunden cool
